Mission
The mission of the Market Outside the Box (MOTB) is to provide our members with industry information, resources, and ongoing promotional opportunities that will assist them in reaching their small business goals.


Code of Conduct Guidelines:

* Treat all fellow members with respect and courtesy.
* Foster a community of networking, personal and professional growth among fellow members.
* Remain steadfastly committed to customers' satisfaction.
* Clearly, honestly and accurately represent products, services, terms and conditions.
* Deliver products and services as represented.
* Communicate in a respectful and courteous manner.
* Respond to inquiries and complaints in a constructive, timely way.
* Maintain appropriate security policies and practices to safeguard information.
* Provide information on policies on data transfer of sensitive information
* Honors requests to protect personal information. not to have personally identifiable information
* Honors request not to receive future solicitations from your organization.


The use of MOTB member logos is a benefit reserved to active members of the association. Any member whose membership has lapsed must remove MOTB logos from their website and any associated marketing materials within (48) hours of the lapse or termination of their membership. The presence of a membership logo on a MOTB member's website or marketing materials designates membership in the association; it is not intended to be an endorsement of members' businesses or products. Any implication otherwise is strictly prohibited.

As an organization, MOTB strives to educate the membership on the value of seeking out fellow members for their products and service needs. Members are encouraged to extend discounts or special offers to fellow members. For any specific or time-sensitive promotions, members are encouraged to contact the Association President with all pertinent details, so that an announcement may be made to the membership.

Membership
Any entity (e.g., sole proprietor, partnership, corporation, etc.) eligible for membership must apply for membership by submitting an application form provided by MOTB, available from the association website. Payment of membership dues for the selected level and term of membership must accompany the application. Provided applicable dues are paid, and upon approval as determined in conformity with all Association policies that govern such approval, such applicant shall become a member of the Association. Membership shall continue until such time as the member resigns, is suspended or expelled due to violation of ethics policies, or does not make annual dues payments.

Title to Membership
Membership in MOTB belongs to a business entity (e.g., sole proprietor, partnership, corporation, etc.), Membership in the Association is not transferable or assignable.

Obligations of Membership
Members of MOTB are expected to sup
port the mission, goals and objectives of the Association. Such support includes payment of all dues and properly approved assessments; adherence to all policies and principles of business practice as outlined in the Association’s Code of Ethics, and restraint from any conduct prejudicial or detrimental to the interests or mission, of the Association, or of fellow members.


Members in Good Standing
A member in good standing is a member who has paid all required fees and dues and is not suspended, expelled or resigned.

Suspension, Expulsion & Reinstatement of Membership
AUTOMATIC SUSPENSION FOR NON-PAYMENT OF DUES: Any member who is in default in the payment of dues after (10) calendar days after such dues becomes payable is automatically suspended from membership. Any member so suspended shall, until reinstated, forfeit all rights and privileges of membership in the Association. A suspended member shall be reinstated to good standing upon payment in full of all dues and other amounts owing and payable at the time of suspension and reinstatement.

Expulsion
Any member may be expelled for just and reasonable cause. Just and reasonable cause shall include violation of the Code of Ethics, or conduct prejudicial or detrimental to the interests of the Association, or fellow members.

No decision to suspend or expel a member may be made until at least fifteen (15) calendar days after a formal Membership Grievance has been sent by the Association President. The Membership Grievance form shall be made available upon request from the President. A notice of the filing of a Membership Grievance will be made available to all parties involved. The member (s) shall be provided the opportunity to present to the Association President and Member Representative any defense to the Statement of Charges before action is taken thereon by the President. Expulsion shall not entitle the member to any refunds of any type or in any amount.

In the case of expulsion, the member shall have the right to re-apply for membership in upon proof that the previous action that resulted in expulsion has been modified so the member no longer violates MOTB’s Code of Ethics.

Refunds of Membership Dues
All membership dues are non-refundable.

Resignation of Membership
Any member in good standing may resign from the Association by submitting written notice of such intention to the Association’s President. Resignations are effective on the date of the member’s notice of resignation, or any date specified by the member that is prior to the member’s annual renewal date. Resignations shall not entitle the member to any refunds of any type or in any amount. A resignation shall not relieve the member of any obligations to pay any dues, assessments, or other charges that had accrued and were unpaid prior to the effective date of the resignation.

Resigned Members shall have the right to re-apply for membership provided that such resignation was done while their membership was in good standing, and provided that any unpaid obligations are brought current.

Expectations of Members
Members must conform to the Code of Ethics, and any other policies and regulations of the Association.

Members should conform to all the regulatory requirements of their respective federal, state and local governments; however, MOTB does not verify the compliance of its members, or offer legal or regulatory advice.

Fair and Honest Business
All business transactions should be conducted in a fair and truthful manner, including all dealings with vendors and customers.

Members will not engage in false or misleading advertising.

Members may identify themselves as an MOTB member in advertising and marketing materials. However, Association involvement should not be used for personal or partisan gain. Members may not infer MOTB endorsement of any of their products.

Members will not engage in any attempt to default, defame, defraud, harass or discredit fellow members of the Association.

Should the conduct of any member become prejudicial or detrimental to the character and welfare of the Association, or if any member exhibits conduct in any way contrary to or in violation of this Code, that Member may be subject to suspension or termination of their membership.
